The transformative potential of meditation in the context of sustainability

Together with the AMA (A Minset for the Anthropocene) team of the Potsdam Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), the transition>>lab hosted a workshop around the following question:

“What could be the specific transformative potential of meditation in the context of sustainability?”

Together we had the pleasure to listen to Boris Bornemann, PhD student at the Max-Planck Institute for Cognitive and Brain Sciences in Leipzig supervised by Prof. Tania Singer. He provided us with some preliminary knowledge on the state of research about the connection between meditation and inner transformations with sustainability.

This was followed by a meditation round and a lively discussion, generating numerous questions that will inform the AMA project at IASS. We are now looking at reproducing the experience at the Thinkfarm Berlin.
